"Bacteria build-up? Where on earth are you kids putting your faces?" Wanda asked in confusion.

"Out in the world? The real world? The smog, the rain, the pollution, the existence," Billy pointed out. "It's just good to clean your skin, jeeze."

"I have a window box, looking after plants is good for people with depression. I had a peace lily before Thanos blew it up." She explained. "See, and we're all fine. Your pores will not suffer from less than perfect lilac flowers."

"Maybe you're fine, or maybe you could be enjoying a nice, lilac scented sleep mask that helps prevent bacteria build up," Billy said.

"Well, just as well that the flowers aren't perfect then. If she hates it, I'll put it in my window box planter." Wanda commented as she watched him examine the potted plant. "Oy, when I was your age, you were considered fickle about your skincare if you remembered to clean off all your eyeliner and my pores are just fine."

"You're growing a garden? Or just framing your windows?" Billy asked out of polite curiosity. He put the planters back down, keeping them high on the end table and away from any animal's reach. "Skin care changes. Mom's also mentioned being sixteen and watching her friends sun tan with oil on."

"You can only work with what you have. Do you think the alewife's revenge will sit and wait for you to get the exact right colour of lilac in an emergency situation?" She asked him to try and reassure him.

"There's no lilacs in the cure for Alewife's Revenge, it was just an example," Billy drawled. Be picked up the flowers, eyeing them with some interest and an edge of defensive distaste.

"Don't 'oy' your elders, kiddo. They're supposed to 'oy' you." Wanda warned playfully as she inspected the purple flowers. "Well Jen is welcome to traipse around every garden centre and florist in the tri-state area with the dulux colour chart if she's unhappy with our offering." She told him.

"What would be the point of that if I'm trying to learn the right ingredients for stuff? If I want to make the antidote for Alewife's Revenge on my own, I'm cooked." Billy pointed out. He rolled his eyes at her warning, keeping things... calm as possible.

"It's called being born in the USSR, sweetheart." She reminded him. Wanda snorted at his little colour rant. "Okay, okay, simmer down Miranda Priestley, who knew potions were so fickle. Let me just..." She put the plant down and held her hands either side. After a long moment, the flowers became a deeper purple.

"Oy," He grumbled under his breath. It sounded just old to him, but he wasn't about to mouth off about that. "Well, potions are. And they can save your life, too, so it's good to know this stuff."

"Billy, darling, I speak five languages but none of them include fancy flower names." Wanda explained. "This was what they had at the garden centre." She added, holding up the potted plant.

"At that point, you're just showing off," Billy sassed. He dropped his head back and groaned. "Oh, my g-d, heliotrope. It's also another shade of purple it's like, deeper than this. Jen's going to think you don't take potions seriously."
