I just seen a post to undergeound and indie artists/promoters if they felt undergound music awards were needed, did the awards help them, did tge artist feel validated, where the awards real of fixed..etc..here was my response : I think everyone loves to be appreciated for thier craft, people ..all people.in show business love attention, is why we are in show business...but for some its NEEDED. For me it is not, I have been doing what I do in my city for 20 yrs. I made the very 1st of any kinda of hiphop awards in my city..The were called the Hiphop Buffet Series awards .they were performances based only, people voted live at each of the Each the series show, the show was also video streamed live to my network JPBTV.com.so peole can vote online. when the awards came in March, voting consisted on going to the site, looking at a video clip of each winner's performace 60 secz, you voted for who rocked you...you didnt have to know them, did the rock you? There only 6 categories. The HipHop Buffet series ran from April to Dec of each year of the awards. I said that to day this...I have done many Authentic many things in and for my.music scene, and alhave proof, yet I have NEVER won any kinda of award. I still do very authentic things in my scene. An award (although would have been nice #nofrontin) wouldnt have made, so not having one surely didn't break me. #rewardyourself #grindwin (at Grind City Entertainment Production)
