I... feel like it may be a difference in the maturity level of the majority of people playing the games, honestly? Like, as much as FFXV had its own problems, it was largely made for older teens/young adults, and it gives off a very different vibe because of that. Kingdom Hearts, on the other hand, was written for much younger audiences, and people have taken to its storyline with a kind of ‘it’s what’s on the surface that counts,’ and is on the whole treated like everything that matters is handed to you on a silver platter.

So when the writer comes along to fix their mistakes or add pertinent details in a DLC, in FFXV, the fans are wise enough to notice and call the creators out for it, and in KH, the fans are just used to accepting what they’re handed without considering what it is, and they just lap it up happily.

I mean, this is the take of someone who is increasingly Done with the KH fandom, however, so please take this with a grain of salt.

sojiro and sae. i love makeshift families and father figures who are like “i’m not a dad” but is definitely a dad. i didn’t really start liking sae until the end of the game though
