You know what really bothers me? The fact that there are a lot of people here and on social media in general who, whenever Harry is being loud about his sexuality and gender through queer coding and all the different things present in his self-expression and music, always try to shut down the conversation and the joy it creates within the queer side of the fandom. At least that’s how I interpret it.

Like, they immediately start saying things like, “oh, here we go, people are already starting to say this or assume that. They shouldn’t do that, it’s wrong, it’s his private life.” I understand that some people genuinely have the intention of protecting his privacy, but recognizing Harry’s queerness doesn’t interfere with that in my opinion. It frustrates me because it really feels like some people just want to silence the conversation.

I assume a lot of that comes from a place of privilege and being straight, because the queer community has been silenced — and continues to be silenced — in so many ways. I honestly can’t imagine someone queer wanting to silence the recognition of someone’s queerness or the fact that Harry is being seen and acknowledged.
