so i've started to read the replace plus novel (thank you, @japeneselunchtimerush ) it just hit me how people say that sei is "intimidating" and generally minimize him to being scary and quite the "bad guy" of it but this is further proof that those types of perceptions are just completely wrong.

sei purposefully getting off at the wrong stop to carry an old lady's bag + nijimura confirming that he has a heart of gold. he really is the most reliable of the bunch. i wonder if he got in trouble for arriving home later.

sei literally saving a baby from getting ran over. and then minimizing it by saying that anyone could have done it. can you start valuing yourself, for the love of god???

I truly love fanfics that focus on Nijimura because, in the Kuroko no Basket canon, he is so well-constructed in terms of his role as a player, a captain, and a son in his family. Yet, he isn't featured enough, leading to the fact that if readers don't pay close attention to the small details, they won't be able to grasp anything from the character of Nijimura Shuuzou. 💔

Furthermore, I feel it is such a pity that Fujimaki made Nijimura completely disappear after he went to the U.S. 😭 I think he should have at least written about Nijimura keeping in touch and exchanging messages with his juniors, or how the Generation of Miracles respected him and occasionally thought of him.

Leaving him to vanish as if he never existed—other than the detail in the Last Game manga where Akashi still keeps in touch with him—is no different than completely denying the influence of Nijimura's character, as well as robbing Haizaki of his only opportunity for redemption.

Because back in Teikou—a club that only valued strength and was willing to abandon human character—Nijimura was the only one who truly wanted to save his younger brother who was losing his way. Nijimura is very intelligent and rational; he said he had no specific expectations (proving he knew it was impossible to be certain that Haizaki would change), and he also understood that being tolerant toward Haizaki could affect the team. However, Nijimura was also a person with a quietly kind heart, as he pursued and tried to understand the reasons behind Haizaki’s irresponsibility rather than giving up on him or judging him one-sidedly. (OH, HOW I WISH I HAD AN OLDER BROTHER OR A SENIOR LIKE NIJIMURA-SAN 😭😭🖤)
