Who They Are

There are two major NightWing settlements, there are those who live in the rainforest with the RainWings, and those who have settled in the old Night Kingdom. The old kingdom is where the NightWings lived over two thousand years ago, before the terror of Darkstalker and the migration to the volcano island. The settlement in the old Night Kingdom, called Renewal is mostly of NightWings, though there are some dragons from other tribes, largely some SandWings.

NightWings are nocturnal dragons who have an ability to see in the dark. I'm very dark conditions, like SeaWings, they can only see in grays, with color perception increasing with the availability of light. The NightWings also have the ability to breathe fire.

NightWings also have two notable powers, the abilities of prophecy and perception. NightWings with prophecy can see into the future, ranging from random flashes to the ability to look ahead down multiple timelines. NightWings with perception can read minds, this is a passive ability which a dragon must learn how to suppress, these dragons will have silver teardrop shaped scales by their eyes. The ability level of a NightWing with perception range from an ability to sense feelings from other to being able to hearing the complete thoughts of any dragon up to a distance away. Typically, dragons with these powers are born under full moons, but a non-full moon has the chance to gift a weaker version of a power.

Each of the moons is known to give a certain power, Oracle and Perception make prophets and mindreaders respectively, while Imperial amplifies powers. If neither of the other moons are full on a NightWing dragonet's hatching, the dragonet is likely to get the possible weaker versions of the other moons' gifts. Such circumstances can actually cause other abilities to mutate in hybrids, such as the named Dragonspeak ability.

Different events of the moon can too effect a NightWing's powers, such as a blood moon Perception giving mind reader the ability to project their own thoughts into other dragons minds. NightWings have dark scales, often appearing very close to black. The most common undertone colors of NightWings are blue, green, and purple. The webbing of their wings is usually black, and has silver-white scales dotting the underside like stars.

The NightWing mayor in the Rainforest is Mayor Sightseer. The Earl of Renewal is Lord FierceWings.
