Did you know? There are more than five species of night monkey—also known as owl monkey—in the genus Aotus, found in various parts of Central and South America. Meet one of the species: the Panamanian night monkey (Aotus zonalis). It lives in small groups in the treetops of lowland forests across Panama and Colombia. This primate is typically most active around dawn and dusk, when it can be spotted foraging for fruit and insects. Its large, circular eyes are well-equipped to see in low levels of light.
