This one was a fun one. Ended up just kind of scribbling in the back until a concept popped in my head (that’s what’s masked to the rain) and I think it turned out quite well. I also really struggle with moon shapes and have no idea why so I’m glad this one turned out well 😂
One more from last night.  I was hoping to get a good view of the storm structure, but there were other persistent clouds in the way, so that never happened.  What I like about this shot is the juxtaposition of the hard and soft curves. The 30 second exposure offers painterly quality down below and then boom!, some serpentine drama up top.Â
Night storms are my favorite.

Night time Texas Thunderstorms are otherworldly.
They blow in fast. The lightning strikes... The thunder rolls like a freight train for long minutes at a time and then the sky lights up again with nature's best light show.
