Cap was so excited and gentle all episode- he’s really coming into his own and it’s so delightful to see- plus, no one forced him to act?? They all know each other so well, he got to be stage manager and they were ready to have Fanny double up on a role to fill the gap in the cast?

Pat having to face the fact that sometimes people make fun of him- and in doing so realizing that’s not really what’s happening at all? That it’s actually all affectionate??

Kitty did such a good job! She had so much fun and she was so valued by the whole ‘cast’ I’m so happy for her

Fanny who didn’t complain about partaking in the pantomime? S1 Fanny would have put up a fuss all day, and here her only complaint was rehearsing for so long?

Alison and Mike having their Christmas in the car, which was genuinely so sweet. Snacks and Christmas dinner and games and lighthearted fun- they’re so perfect.

I can’t stop thinking about Stede Bonnet who was told to be a lighthouse on the day of the wedding he never wanted- Stede Bonnet who was told he had to be there to guide a woman he didn’t love

Stede Bonnet who presumably stared at said painting, painted by his wife, about their wedding, for their anniversary, and thought, every day, about how he’d failed to be her lighthouse, how they hadn’t always been there to guide each other.

I’m thinking about Stede Bonnet explaining this to a stranger, to Ed, and Ed shattering that expectation as if it’s the most casual thing in the world, because that’s not quite how that works, is it?

They try to figure out the similarities between popular content and they think well- they’re wildly different shows but they’re all set in space, so it must be the tech! It must be the chain of command, or the space ships, or the lifeforms! Or they’re fantasy adventure shows or movies or books, people like them for the monsters! The landscapes! The character design! People must like them because this character’s sarcastic, or that character’s brave, or this character’s not!

The content that does best with fans, that really matter? The good content? Star Trek, Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, Good Omens, Lord of The Rings, The Mummy 1999, Gravity Falls, BBC Ghosts, those kinds of things?

They’re just about… kindness. They’re about being kind to each other, being kind when it feels like you shouldn’t have to be, and being kind when people say someone doesn’t deserve it. They’re about people who are kind even if they’re not good.

I love all of the theories and I’m glad that people are coming up with their own headcanons, but here we go:

Are you really enjoying Our Flag Means Death? Rhys Darby plays one of the main characters in FoTC, Bret and Jemaine’s band manager Murray. He’s an exasperated dad-style character who insists on role call even though it’s just them. Taika wrote and directed a couple of episodes.

Have you ever listened to Shiny from Moana and thought “god I’d love to hear more of this Bowie-esque bullshit”? Tamatoa is voiced by Jemaine Clement, one of the two main characters and musicians from FoTC

Did you watch and enjoy Legion FX? Oliver Bird is played by Jemaine as well.

Colin’s diary page that we saw had a lot of mentions of “Red Sky,” and the associated saying- “Red Sky at night, sailor’s delight- Red Sky in the morning, sailor’s warning” so idk what the FUCK that’s about but I’m putting it in writing so I can say ‘I told you so’ come next season

Guillermo. Slay, king, you deserve it! (I don’t believe he’ll be a vamp come next season but I’ve also given up entirely on trying to pretend I can tell where this show is going and they’ve definitely done weirder.)

We still have room to grow into that “Sean’s starting to remember things” storyline as well!!
