how long would the ghosts last if they were the villain in a columbo episode
or more like how I think it would go down.
Category 1: Would only kill someone accidentally
Kitty: I have a hard time imagining her as a killer or a villain actually. She would have to be tricked or oblivious to what was going on. She would genuinely think Columbo is just trying to hang out and be friends.
Mary: also accidental but I think she would be a tougher nut to crack. I could see her killing in self defense, but Columbo would figure her out very quickly because she isn't good at planning ahead.
Humphrey: also probably accidental but he would be more difficult for Columbo to deal with because he is rich and adequately intelligent.
Pat: similar to Kitty, I think he's most likely tricked or trusts the wrong person and becomes an accomplish. Maybe he looks like the killer at first, but it's someone else....maybe someone he met through the trucker radio.
Fanny is so interesting cause she was at the Tail End of the Edwardian era
(and some might argue, that *technically* ended in 1910 but she counts because she died before ww1)
Fanny just represents the Edwardian Era because she's just
A) older
and
B) just happens to be outwardly old fashioned, even by the standards of her time.
But she is barely Edwardian time period wise, man. but she also would have lived most of her adult life (and all of her childhood) in the Victorian period.
She was born in 1854, the Victorian period lasted from 1837 to 1901. so she would've been about 47 when that changed.
Fanny is an Edwardian lady because that's when she died, but mentally she's just as much a Victorian.
I cannot stress how important to me it is that Fanny is the one who has a hand on the Captain in an act of comfort after he tells the story of his death. While it's shown they are objectively the closest out of each ghost's pairing it means that even considering her previous bias towards homosexuality it shows how much she cares for Captain. It probably meant a lot to him and shows a major growth from her. Captain needed support in that moment and Fanny Button was the best choice for that of Captain's solace.
do you ever think about how fanny and the captain were alive at the same time, just briefly? if the captain was born in 1900 or so and fanny died in 1912 then he wouldve been abt 12 when she was murdered.

Martha is so pretty!!!
can't wait to see her on the big screen
The little nod.
(Someone cleverer than me with video editing can probably eliminate Heather Button’s glow so we can see his sweet expression. I tried. 🤷🏼♀️)
