So...it's been a crazy last 24 hours!!! Last night while watching We Are Messengers perform, I got a call from Rob Montes, my booking person for SoulFest 2022 . It turns out that the guitarist's wife from Jeff Senour's band (CTS) went into labor after they flew to New Hampshire from Arizona. So the guitarist did a U turn and flew back to Arizona, but now they were minus a band member. So, Rob called me to see if I could fill in, and I said why not. I spent most of the day today with the band hanging out and rehearsing and learn 8 new songs I've never heard before. I'm still not where I'd like the songs to be. The reason for the post is to ask for prayers that everything goes as smoothly as possible. The cool thing is that I only had my own set on a small outside acoustic stage at 5:30pm, but now I'm playing the big Main Revival stage at 2:30pm (technically opening for Crowder and Skillet, so I can add that to the resume) and the smaller indoor Mercy Street stage at 10:20pm. Also, I get to play a Gibson Les Paul Traditional through a Marshall half stack, so that's a first and the tones are gonna sound thiiiiick!!!! I did not sleep well at all last night, so I'm hoping for a good night's sleep, and time to get some practice in tonight and tomorrow morning. I haven't even looked at my own songs the last 24 hours, so I'm just trusting the Lord they are there when I open my mouth tomorrow to sing. This God stuff is amaaaazing!!!! Or, it could rain tomorrow and none of this happens. If God wants it to happen, it's gonna happen. Trial by fire!
