New Moon In Capricorn ~ January 2nd, 2022
For anyone who doesn’t already know the New Moon is my particular favorite phase of the moon because of it’s use when it comes to preforming manifestation spells. As much as an illuminated moon is easy on the eyes and powerful in it’s own right the New Moon, otherwise known as the Dark Moon, can be adjacently strong and useful in different ways.
What does this moon phase mean for my craft?
Traditionally the New Moon 🌚 tends to revolve around releasing the old energies, situations, and people that no longer serve us in our current state of growth. It is a time of shadow work, and the idea of setting new intentions for the future. This brings about a time of deep self reflection and acceptance. Coincidentally coinciding with the spirit of not only New Years, but also in the thick of Capricorn season.
This zodiac pairing alongside the approaching Dark Moon phase is immaculate because of the two’s ties and correlation to the manifestation of money, success, and career opportunities. Use this as a time to explore more ideas and focus on abundance and new beginnings in whatever form that may take for you.
Small Things To Do On The New Moon:
• A lazy witch’s shadow work. Release old energies by writing down old habits, toxic people and situations you want to move on from. Burn this piece of paper by the flame of a black candle (or a regular flame) and in a safe place let it burn until all that remains is ash.
• Light any candle you have on hand (preferably a black or silver candle) and recite and/or pray your intentions.
• Take a luxury bath where you can reflect and relax. After doing so all your worries can quite literally circle the drain.
• Cleansing your space or home with blue sage, incense, or oils.
• Do an Oracle or Tarot card reading for inner growth, and exercise your intuition a little.
• Journal, journal, journal! Write down a least one of each
1. What you want to rid yourself of
2. What you are most thankful for
3. One thing you manifest for yourself for the future
4. A sentence or prayer for another person or place that needs it (a manifestation that doesn’t just serve you)
