Another glorious day at forest school for grown ups! These sessions leave my heart and soul feeling so full. We whittled, baked potatoes, cooked pasta with wild garlic pesto and nettle soup, laughed a lot at the innuendo, did some grounding and left offerings. The opportunity to just be in such a breathtaking space, without pressure to be good at anything or produce something is so freeing it's an honour to be able to provide such a gift. You know it's good when no knew wants to leave. I realised something today that made me so upset I had a little cry. For over a decade, I have been bringing children to this spot to explore, paddle, overfill their wellies, learn to skim stones, watch the seal, laugh, learn, and grow. I thought about bringing my littlest charges here today, and I realised that due to recent changes in legislation the privately owned companies have taken to dumping untreated sewage in our waterways, it is no longer safe. I recently had a back and forth with my local MP @[email protected] who assured me that this issue would be resolved by 2050. He couldn't/wouldn't explain to me why it had been allowed to happen in the first place. Only the usual false platitudes. Shame on @southwestwater Shame on this government. Ostara is nearly here 🐇🐣🌼 I've been finding it hard to make the transition from winter to spring. The need for rest and hermitism just feels too comfy. One of the intentions I set myself this year was to allow myself to soften into life. So, I'm just taking life as it comes. There is a conflict in me wanting to push ahead, frustration that I want to do so much and stay in my nest and dream. This crossover makes for an interesting combination. Half finished projects creep up on my mind. Despite the drizzly weather today my heart leaps at the sight of new life coming through. Happy International women's Day! There will be many posts today celebrating woman, particularly famous and inspiring ones. And that's great. I'd like to take a moment to celebrate all the women in my life who have shown me just how powerful we are when we come together. Having been conditioned to compare and tear down from a young age, women are waking up to this illusion designed to divide. We are waking up to why our collective power, rage and sensitivity has been oppressed. In my circles I see the way women from a cross section of the world with different troubles, experiences and backgrounds connect and support each other. This rise of the divine feminine evokes a sense of hope and pride in me that moves me to tears. Yes, there are many women who have done remarkable things to be celebrated. I also want to celebrate the small ways my life has been forever changed through the support of women. From bathroom councils with strangers who have been my savour and best friend for 5 minutes, to the friends who have held me in my darkest moments, making sure I eat and don't slip into self destruction. The late night, setting the world to rights with wine stained lips and open hearts. The women I can rant to and laugh with as we raise each other up. The ones who bring their unique flavour of loving insight to a situation. Who help to reframe limiting beliefs and question what womanhood 'should' be. The strong and the sensitive. Young, old and so very fucking bold. I am in awe of the way you show up in the world. Mothers, witches, sisters, warriors, soul friends, lovers, huntresses, priestesses, healers, world changers and gentle holders, whatever flavour combination of goddess you embody. I've been working on my relationship with pleasure of late. Deconstructing some of the conditioned shame around it. Not just for spicy reasons but in all areas of my life. I've been questioning where the blockages I have come from. Shame around being 'extra', decadent or lazy. For going beyond just meeting my needs and gifting my self luxurious moments. A lot of it comes from the messages I received as a child growing up with this p@triarchal structure. (No surprises there) That self care leads to being 'up yourself' or spoilt, so I should deny myself. Well fuck that. Removing the blockages I have to receiving begins with giving myself permission to be extra.
