𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐋𝐒 , 𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐑 𝐌𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 , like he is watching his past through a closed window. a spectator. he finds his present self a new entity , entirely. and the thought bruises him. at what point he was led astray , he cannot recall.

a blue heron : a solitary creature. watching , and standing , and always there. he's always there. doesn't stick around when the geese come calling. but instead finds somewhere else to be. still here. or there. distance forgets his name. and the days fold into each other. long and full of less purpose than he desires. 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚜𝚘𝚞𝚕 𝚘𝚏 𝚑𝚒𝚖𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚏 𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚜 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚢 𝚋𝚒𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 : 𝚍𝚘𝚎𝚜 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚕𝚊𝚔𝚎. 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚎𝚕𝚜𝚎 𝚍𝚘𝚎𝚜 𝚑𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚐 , 𝚋𝚎𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚜 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎?

as solas hears her voice , his eyes remain fixed on the mountain range before him. body doesn't move an inch. hands are two solid figures on the railing of the balcony. in a time of loss , he finds himself in her chambers. ( as if wandering more into the darkness would help him find his way. ) he breathes in the frigid air , hoping it would breathe in him some wisdom. some answer , or reason. after he exhales , he comes up short.

to give in , or to cast aside? for only so long he can brim over — he is bound to spill. ❝ waiting for you, ❞ he starts, the corner of his lips curl upwards slightly. the taste of the stone and the snow and something sweet from her direction makes up his mind :: he flows over the edges. prays briefly that the god of himself can clean up the mess.

solas turns toward her , eyes softening. something in the red of her hair melts him. he could burn inside her hair. content. surrounded. and sorry. and she could ruin him. thousands of years amount to the weight on his shoulders. the burden he carries. and now , a few feet from her , solas can feel himself unraveling. ( when did you , silvery and with roots for miles under the earth , begin to pale in sight of her ?? and for how long ?? and with what strength do you plant your feet ?? )

"Oh ... thanks, babe." He quietly took the drink that Bettie brought for him, and took a long drink, sighing for a moment. He was oddly quiet for the time being, but was wanting to spend time with her in the time he was off. For right now ... he needed a break.
