A very cute wasp! It's an ichneumon wasp, although I can't tell which species from this angle. I would think either in the genus Ophion or Netelia.

One of my favorite insects, ichneumon wasps. I found this lady drowning in the pool, so when I got her out I recorded a very nice video of her drying herself. She grooms herself like a cat, it’s so cute, I love her so much. Once she dried off, she flew away. I wish you lots of success ma’am. Ichneumon wasps are parasitoids, their life cycle is very interesting, but I have no hopes of narrowing down the species, what with 300+ species in the Netelia genus. Ichneumon wasps are one of the largest families 0.o
Finally... I'm saying that cause it's been a long and stressful couple of days. I'll be honest, I never really liked her idk (before the whole thing I'm talking about) she just came off as someone I don't like tbh but after this whole thing I definitely didn't like her. I'm a WOC btw.

Wiggly antenna. They wiggle at me saying, “who are you? And what are you doing with that large rectangle?” Just taking your picture, buddy!
The new buddy was very calm in my hand after flying away just once. I carried them outside where they flew to a happy leaf.
WHAT a precious lady. She's beautiful. She's a short-tailed ichneumonid wasp, but I'm not confident saying which genus. There are a few that look veeeeeeeery similar. They're not super likely to sting unless handled roughly, although it is possible for the short-tailed ones to jab defensively with their ovipositor. There is no venom in their stinger, though, so it would just be the jab that's painful.

It’s a ichneumon wasp, but without better photos, I can’t tell you which species. Possibly in the genus Ophion or Netelia. Not dangerous either way!
