When I was away from the Decepticons while on Earth, I actually had the opportunity to observe all of those birds in person, as well as research them! I can immediately rule out herons - they stand around in ponds all day and are slow fliers. But hawks versus ravens is an interesting question!

Hawks are fast and powerful, which I find appealing as a Seeker. But ravens are agile and cunning. Of course, for agility I don't know that a raven could beat a goshawk... Hmmm. And hawks have such varied plumage...

Cirrus takes things somewhat literally, and often doesn’t notice jokes. He also doesn’t get a lot of jokes when he does notice them, because humor depends on context, and he’s super inexperienced. But, being an odd nerd bird, he’ll look up all the things in the joke and try to figure it out later. Sometimes he gets it and laughs about it, sometimes he gets it and kind of just goes “ah, I get it”, and sometimes he ends up even more confused. If the things he looks up lead to other things and he thinks they might be important, he’ll go on research tangents. It can take hours or even days. A lot of the time he spends reading on his own is him researching the background information for jokes he’s heard or seen. Like he looked up all the animals and legends and who Herodotus was and now he thinks this is super funny and showed it to Phoenix.
