someone ask me about firefly

it floors me to know that there are this many people who enjoy my art, gifs, ramblings & everything in-between, even as my hyperfixations have shifted/changed over this past year! thank you for sticking around, supporting me, and making me smile with your tags on my posts. i've met some truly wonderful people through this site, and it's become an invaluable place for me to connect with likeminded people and express myself.

The plot is that a 24 year old Clear has just brought a house in a rundown neighborhood. Built in 1786, it’s $2000 a month and it’s not even a fixer upper! The only catch is that it’s haunted, like hella haunted.

-Ian McKinley lived in the house first, his father built it when he was a boy. He died in 1793 at the age of 16 after contracting yellow fever.

The house changed hands until…

-Nora Carpenter was a nurse in the Civil War, stationed at the house to help the Union. She died at the age of 37 in 1863 after being hit with a canonball, trying to protect a wounded solider.

No one lived in the house until the Reyes family brought the house in 1889.

-Stefani Reyes was hosting a dinner party in the summer of 1896, and afterwards while talking with Erik in the backyard, he accidentally dropped a cigarette on her skirt. She was only 19.

The Reyes would occasionally rent out the house for traveling entertainers in the 1920s in an effort to get away from the place where Stef died.

-Part of an all female dance troupe, runaway Perry Malinowski (known to her fellow dancers as Makoto) died in 1925 at the age of fifteen. No one, not even Perry, knows how she died.

Charlie sold the house in 1930 after the Stock Market Crash.

-In 1956, Eugene Dix brought the house and stayed there in spite of redlining and harassment. He later died at the age of 36 after accidentally drinking motor oil in 1957.

Through no fault of Eugene’s death; the neighborhood starts to fall apart and become rundown in the early 60s.

-Protesting the Vietnam War, 18 year old college student Theresa “Terry” Chaney led a rally that passed through the neighborhood. The cops turned a firehose on the crowd; Terry took a lot of the blast and hit her head on the curb outside the house.

-Dodging the draft at the tail end of the Vietnam War, 17 year old Billy Hitchcock crashed his car and flew through the windshield, dying just as he landed on the front lawn of the house.

The house was occupied at the time, but the owners moved out because of Billy crashing on their house and dying. In 1986, the Ulmer-Montero family moved in.

-Their eldest daughter Erin took her own life in 1998 at the age of 17.

The house is occupied for a good long while until the Ulmers move in 2007, and the house is abandoned for years.

-26 year old Molly Harper and 27 year old Sam Lawton had just gotten married and brought the house. They’d been there for only a year before a serial killer brutally murdered them in 2020.

There’s really not much they can do as ghosts. Food tastes like shit, they can only leave the property on Halloween night or 3 AM and they’re unaware of what goes on in the outside world.

So when Clear moves in it’s a welcome relief, even if she does touch grass a lot and acts like a hippie.
