I watched the fifth season's premiere of Gotham some days ago and since then, there have been running some comments about what happened, but i'm not talking about everything about it, i mean, not like general impressions or something like that (it was such a great and exciting episode, btw, i still can't get over with it, omg... But that's another story, lol), but especifically about that scene with Oswald and Tabitha and the whole drama around it... that also has it's own issues for the way the show decided to go with it, but yeah, is not the main discussion here.
My point to walk out of my usual silence, is cuz one dear friend of mine said something like "Robin has tweeted that all of Oswald's humanity will be gone. This hurts me so much" and as much as i love Robin (just like everyone else does, i'm sure), since my friend said that and apparently is not the only one feeling like this, i felt the necessity to share MY POINT OF VIEW of what i think (and told my friend) about this particular topic, so, here we go (this will be long and i'm not that bad with english, but is not my mother language either, so i apologize for the mistakes, hope it can make some sense anyway xD)...
So... My dash just did a thing... i must post it, is beyond my power šš
*sighs* ⦠Ok, iĀ“m not very ātalkativeā beyond just letting my feels run wild and freely in the tags of every post i reblog here cuz I love the fandom and itĀ“s people but iĀ“m an introvert who prefers keep lowkey almost all the time but loves fangirling anyway BUT i feel i need take this out of my system, after watching the last episode of Gotham (S4, Ep13⦠just in case lol) and of course, after scrolling my dash that almost was filled entirely with gifsets, theories, text post and everything, about said episodeā¦
WARNING, SPOILERS BELOWā¦
First of all: WHAT AN EPISODE MY DEAR GOSH, it was really exciting and all (details below) but the main thing I personally care the most is that after being starved cuz the absolute absence of the very necessary Oswald Cobblepot dose the last episode, i“m so glad we had this episode almost dedicated exclusively to him and his arc in Arkham (and his interaction with Jerome), that“s the only thing I personally was asking for this episode in general, so thanks a lot Gotham.
And nowā¦
How to Say "I love you": A useful guide step by step
By Oswald Cobblepot and Edward Nygma
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā (you can read it on AO3 if you want)
Prologue
So, friend, here you are.
Do you believe in fate? Probably, if you are already reading this.
Let me tell you something before entering into subject:
Sometimes destiny finds unexpected and interesting ways to put on your path, some of the most important persons in your life. Maybe you won't notice at the beginning, but don't worry, you'll find out sooner or later, believe me. Then, the real journey will begin.
There are no guarantee of having just fun along the way, but is why this guide exist now, to give you a bit help with what you are searching for. Hope you find it useful.
I feel you may be a bit eager, don't you? ok, let's start then.
Introduction. First meetings: The best way to get your crush's attention.
Ft. Season 1 (Episodes 6 and 15)
"Doesn't matter how akward you think you are, there always be that one person who'll match their weirdness with yours"
1. "Dress to impress!". Always be ready to do a dramatic display in public (specially if you are in front of authorities or better, at an entire police station, claiming you are still alive)... you'll never know who could catch an eye on you.
2. Take note when someone is able to impress you with their dramatic public display at your work. Remember if he says his full name with a reverence (because it could sound quite foreing but elegant, maybe with a middle name on it). Will be time to do some research... just in case you'll see him again.
3. About time! If you are lucky enough and see him again at your work, don't waste time, go to have some words with him before someone else interrupt you.*
*You'll also maybe see that he in fact has noticed your presence from the distance. Good, bonus points! (for better results, stare at him until he turns his sight at you. Don't worry, that's not akward at all).
4. You can consider a success if you manage to, in fact, catch someone's attention after your last public show in the same place you are again. Nice, but before you come to any conclusion, check his intentions in case he gets nearer to you.* Stay calm and wait.
*Remember what i say at the beginning? About destiny? Well, if you don't realize immediately about the signs, no need to worry, maybe you are just distracted looking for someone else (a nice detective, for example) that you believe is the right one or something like that... I'm just guessing here.
5. Walk casual but keep an eye on the other. Choose a neutral spot to stop, that will help to fade any tension that could have been started to grow, until you two can meet.
6. You are finally in neutral territory. Good. Time to the next move: talk to him. Doesn't matter who starts the conversation, it could easily go from something like "Can i help you?"* to an amusing and creative riddle, is on you what you prefer to use to break the ice. In any case, just remember: stay true to yourself.
*Don't forget to make it sound like if you were annoyed, but still polite, you are a gentleman after all.
7. If everything goes like planned, at this point you'll have managed to have a conversation with him. Don't worry if is just for a few minutes or if you feel like he doesn't really want to talk to you or having you "standing too close" to him, is your first meeting after all.
Consider this: you've achieved to talk to him and you could look at him closer, to take note on those lil details, like hairstyle, height, clothes, color of eyes... or something particular, like freckles or a very singular nose (just an example).
8. Sometimes could happen that you doesn't really feel in the mood to have a long conversation with new people. Though, you already gave him a chance to talk. Just in case, asure to remain like the gentleman you are, by kindly saying goodbye and asking him to continue their way, so you can focus on your respective business again, but try to remember him and how he looks (clothes, height, hair... Maybe he wears glasses, who knows?), just in case you see him around again.
9. Congratulations friend! your first meeting should be considered now as a complete success. Take a deep sigh and some rest, to be ready for the next part.
See you at chapter 1.
A/N: Hi! This is something i wrote just for fun, to celebrate that Nygmobblepot is back, renewed and well. I'm really happy for this gift Gotham gave to us, the shippers/fans (seriously, the 15 episode of this fourth season will stay in our hearts forever). The writters finally decided to stop this pain they put all us through (including Ozzy and Ed of course) for a very long time, so at this point i feel i can safetly take memory of the best moments the ship/OTP had along the way, and put some humor on it (i bet you'll recognize who was the respective author of each point/step along this guide).
I hope you like it and forgive if there are any grammar mistakes, i'm not used to write fiction in english (not my first language)... Also forgive the sillyness this work can contain, as i said, is just fun covered with endless feels for these two and their complex relationship.
Thanks a lot!

Yāall ever write a late night soliloquy?
Cause I just did.
It was cathartic.
Part of me wants to post it, the other part thinks some things shouldnāt be said.
I know itās my blog and I can do what I want but still. Perhaps another night.
Was listening to Into the Ocean by Blue October this morning, and a particular line in the song struck me:
Ā āWithout a life that's sadly stuck again Wish I was much more masculine Maybe then I could learn to swim Like (fourteen miles away)ā
Ā That one line āWish I was much more masculineā struck me. I usually replace masculine pronouns with feminine and vice versa, to make it more applicable to me, but when I almost said āWish I was much more feminineā I stopped short. Because I donāt wish I was āmuch moreā feminine. Iām feminine as fuck right now. And yet, if one were outside looking in, they might heartily disagree.
Ā There seems to be a dichotomy in my feelings and behavior, with I myself fully identifying as a woman ā a feminine, lavish, sensual and often overly āgirlyā woman ā and some of my less girly actions. I really enjoy being tough and strong. Not to say that the typical woman is NOT tough, or strong, but as a personification⦠it tends to veer heavily toward a masculine trait. Or else, it is seen as something somewhat frightening or extreme, such as a Disney villainess or a comic book vixenā¦
Ā I am as emotional as they come, except for when Iām not. I have schooled myself as of late into being more analytical and less knee jerk emotional⦠unless the emotion is annoyance or anger. (Sidenote: Iām not even sure of what Iām saying here, just trying to get my thoughts and feelings out of my head, so⦠bear with me.) Ā I want to be taken seriously like a man, respected like a man, feared like a man⦠but desired and coveted and worshipped like a beautiful woman. Ā
Ā Maybe lots of women feel this way. Maybe they feel this way, and without that perfect grounding in their feminine sexuality, they long to harness that desire for strength and power and ultimately, to deny the feminine and fully embrace the masculine. I donāt know⦠but I wager that I could possibly be one of those women⦠IF I werenāt already fully grounded in my sexual identity. I donāt want to be a man⦠and Iām not sexually attracted to women. The feelings that stir in me when I see a beautiful woman is a longing to BE her, be LIKE her, but not to possess her. The feelings that stir in me when I see and strong and dominant man are ones of almost⦠challenge. I want to go toe to toe and have that man win, in terms of strength and passion and dominance.
Ā In my daily life, I wear the mantle of strength and command. I manage business accounts, I manage (at one time at least I did, now I work remotely) coworkers. I manage my household and my children, even my mother. I am The Matriarch. But in my private life⦠in terms of sex and relationships⦠Like so many others before, I long to drop that heavy burden of leadership and default āmasculinityā and just be⦠Weak. Vulnerable. Submissive. When I look through that lens, it all makes perfect sense.
Ā I wear strength and swagger as a shield ā an armor ā to protect myself and those under my wing from the horrors of the world. There is no one in the middle of the night to keep us safe from the evil outside our walls, but me. Now that my son is almost grown, I can rely on him⦠but he is still young, and does not know the weight of parenthood. He would not fight with nearly the same desperation for us as I would. My daughter, sad to say, is so much like me. Strong, powerful, but not delicately feminine. She has been a second mom to her brothers⦠she, would likely fight same as I. And the very fact that I could trust my daughter to command more than my son⦠shows that I have failed with him. I failed to provide him with a man to teach him how to protect. And that breaks my heart.
I wish⦠I had done things differently. Perhaps I would be different now. Being with my first ex changed me. Abuse always changes you. I have experienced abuse in various forms growing up, but it was not until I was with Mike that I understood torment. And torment⦠well. What can be said about torment? There are writings much more astute than my own could possibly be on the despair that being tormented causes. That stain inexorably CHANGES you. Would a nice, romantic, congenial man be what I desired if my personality, desires and dark un-whispered needs had not been altered by being with one so cruel? Who knows. My desire for dark and untamed strength predates my relationship with my ex-owner by several years.
Ā Overall⦠Iām okay with who I am now. I am strong. I am learning to be confident. And if Iām not actually strong or confident, Iāve been playing at being strong for so long now that itās second nature. Iām okay with it. But I would be lying if I said I wasnāt wishing there was a man in my life who made me feel vulnerable and delicate⦠That⦠would be really nice right now.
