Genuinely can't believe there are people out there with positive relationships with their parents
wait i was reading your post (the "bad parenting includes" one from yesterday i think) and like. is. is going through your kids device and then yelling at them bcause they cursed 1 time not normal?? - 🐸
Nooooo no no no no that is an invasion of privacy and possibly verbal abuse.
I wasn't the one who wrote that post, but I can assure you that is not normal
Thought of the day…..
Have you wondered why you just can't stand to be around people?
Could it really be that “generalized anxiety” label that you have been given?
Or could it be the connection that you are now just making in midlife that you grew up seeing nothing but anger, frustration, and negativity. So now that is just what you naturally observe in every environment and people you come across.
While it can protect you from being too gullible and too trustworthy, you end up like some famous characters such as Scar from the Lion King, The Joker from Batman, or any other typical "villain" of stories. You know….. the whole rolling eyes, sarcasm, and just overall isolation from the world.
So is the world really full idiots or just full of traumatized individuals that missed out on positive influences?
My father has said I love you less than 5 times in my 30 years. I count 3. Can’t remember a fourth. It made me sad. Until I realized that as a man with emotions, I need to stop relying on others. For hugs. For things. The only thing they owe me is the money for time.

I've always wondered what it would be like to be one of those kids who could get money from a parent, without asking or explaining...or extreme guilt, as early as 6 years old. I was helping a kid with a "group" project of making costumes. I asked how much money each 10 year old contributed: "None, why?" I shrugged, then asked how much everything cost at the store: she shrugged "I dunno...why?" And then I shrugged, realizing how much guilt I was TAUGHT to have as a lil kid, because I ALWAYS knew how much the bill was. This kid doesn't have an anything-goes spending family: they just never taught her to worry about it. Very weird to think of.
