“So we lied down on the blanket on the floor. Y’know: ‘is ‘ead on my chest, both of us lookin’ at the stars and just talkin’ ‘bout anythin’ and everythin’ as I petted ‘is hair. All the servants ‘ad been given the evenin’ off in advance, so the entire ‘ousehold was unusually quiet.
