A DIVERGING PATH

       →   have you been re-introduced to NARCISSA BLACK? last we heard, the PUREBLOOD was most familiar with TIMELINE TWO. I don’t recall if they were always a SLYTHERIN, but I’ve heard the SIXTH YEAR is still CHARMING, ASTUTE, LOYAL and CLOSED-OFF, SELFISH, SPITEFUL, so that’s familiar. at least SHE remembers their way around the castle.

THEIR LIFE IN FULL

      →   a beautiful girl with a perfectly charming smile, the youngest of the black sisters was always popular even as a child. because of this, she spent her whole life needing to feel wanted and admired. being in the spotlight was and still is very important to cissa. true to her black roots, the blonde reveled in her status as pureblood and she prized being queen of slytherin house, even if it is the snow queen.

       →   any special treatment she’d received growing up had nothing to do with her being the youngest daughter. instead, it was because she had always striven to do just what was expected of her and more. she smiled, waved and curtsied whenever she needed to do so, following rules perfectly. she grew up becoming everything that a pure blood was meant to represent. she grew up with the other pureblood families, knowing they were to be the only ones she could befriend. she’d been betrothed to lucius malfoy since she can remember, and her mother has groomed her to be the perfect pureblood wife just as long. 

       →   narcissa holds a great value in family, and puts them above all things. when sirius was burned off the family tapestry, narcissa was there. she could only stand frozen as she watched his face blacken on the walls, his status to the family ever so clear. it terrified her, and yet she learned from it. she would remain loyal to her family, even if she lost faith in their beliefs. she wouldn’t lose anyone else.

A WORLD UPSIDE DOWN

        →   as far as narcissa can remember, purebloods had come out on top. to her, this new timeline makes little sense. how was the war still going? they had already fought it, and won no less. she’d only recently begun to allow little bits of emotion to slip through, but now? she had reverted to her snow queen persona to protect herself. the idea of having to deal with the war again holds no interest to her. still though, there is a small part of her that hopes she might have a second chance to get her cousin back in this reality, if it isn’t too late.

Her injuries had finally healed enough to let her regain some semblance of a regular life (whatever that meant now). And that meant errands. Lily felt incredibly behind on everything - what was supposed to be a mission that only took a night wound up leaving her in bed for nearly a week, and the month seemed to be fleeting quicker than she could keep up. 

The forefront of her mind (after cat food and coffee) was James’s birthday. The man was impossible to shop for (or she was a horrendous gift giver, it was still up for debate). After two hours in Diagon Alley Lily was still empty handed, and no where near knowing what to get for him. Letting out a sigh as she exited the broom shop, Lily’s mind was in a different place, and she was unaware of the blonde on the sidewalk as she turned.

She winced as her body collided with the other, some of her injuries were still in the healing process. She took a moment, but quickly was looking back to the blonde woman in front of her. “I’m sorry - mind’s been a bit all over the place lately.”
