One thing Harriet unfortunately learned the hard way is that she needs to be careful.
Because Harriet, being half siren, is far stronger than most humans, than most of the beings on the Isle. And if she acts without restraining herself, she is capable of breaking bones with what she thinks is a left tap. There's been times where forgetting has hurt people- playing with Diego as a child and accidentally tagging him too hard, leaving a deep bruise on his back, nudging someone just a little too hard and sending them crashing to the floor, pulling someone to safety just a bit too sharply and accidentally snapping their arm or dislocating their shoulder- and that's always horrifying to her. In a crisis, her strength is a great asset. But in casual situations, it's almost a danger.
She talked to Maverick about it a few times and Maverick, easily capable of bench-pressing a school bus without a spotter, gives her that tight, sympathetic smile and nods. Because Maverick deal with it, too. The mistakes are so much more grave when working with allies who aren't as strong, aren't as durable. Harriet's not the only one to accidentally cause bruises or broken bones. And it's a hard lesson to learn, a hard one to remember, but they have to. Unfortunately, there's no room for error there.
