8th March 1801 Sir Ralph Abercromby landed his forces at Aboukir Bay, Egypt. The 18th Foot was n Cradocks Second Brigade along with the 8th Foot, 13th Foot and 90th Foot. The 18th was quite understrength with 523 Officers and Men.
