I reported her sometime in February after she referred to her autistic adult offspring as “a diaper wearing degenerate with no value because of vaccines”. Her whole twitter feed was full of that stuff. I was horrified. I thought of a few autistic people here who wear incontinence products and how hurt they would be if their parents said that about them, and I was so mad.

Parents like that will not listen to anyone other than their own terrible rhetoric, so I used the report button and took her down.

Anybody who comes at me saying she needed a place to vent: Fuck that noise. You don’t say shit like that in public about a child you claim to love and then look at them all smiley and sweet. That kind of trash belongs in private groups that can’t be stumbled into by accident. Her being an antivaxxer was like a knife to the soul on top of everything else.

What if her own offspring one day got online and saw that?

I wanted a way to distinguish autism parents(parents with autistic kids) from the nastier type of Autism Parents who violate their kid’s privacy, make autism all about themselves, sing all the praises of ABA, claim they know more about autism than autistic people, and scapegoat their kid to shut down autistic advocates. They’re often loud supporters of Autism Speaks despite being told it’s a horrible charity. Some may be hardcore antivaxxers and / or put their kids through chelation, MMS or whatever snake oil fake “treatments” are out there. They’re the parents who say autism is a horrible thing to be destroyed and they refuse to be educated by autistic people on how wrong they are.

I ended up with NAMP.
