F. H. Andresen, Fine Tawny Port. A golden-brown colour with red hue. Aroma of ripe fruits with notes of candied prunes. On the palate, a smooth and delicate oak flavours with spicy and honey notes, showing a very good ageing. Full-bodied, well-matured #porto. Perfect with Pasteis or  foie-gras and strong cheeses. Average price: $18.99. The founder of Andresen company Yann Hinrich Andresen was born in 1826 on  Fur island in the North Sea. The local people mainly earned their living through fishing and canning at that time. The young Dane wanted more and like many of his compatriots, went to Portugal at 14 years old . He was the youngest member of crew on the ship. Andresen worked in the lights' store for five years, and at the age of 19 he founded a company for the production of #portwine, which now bears his name. In 1854, Yann accepted Portuguese citizenship and stayed in Porto forever. Andresen was an incredibly honest man and passionately loved his work. Following many recent press reports about the high levels of sugar in our diet, Valerie Coudrain at the Tribaut vineyard has developed a great style that has no added sugar without the compromising the essential sweetness of a rose champagne. A small amount of sugar (known as the dosage) is usually added to Champagne to balance the naturally high acidity in the wine, enhance its aromas, and help preserve the product. While a brut Champagne commonly contains between 9 and 12g/l of sugar, extra #brut contains fewer than 6g/l, and a zero dosage Champagne no sugar at all. To put such sugar levels in perspective, #Prosecco, in its traditional and widespread extra dry style, contains between 12-17 g/l, and “blush” Californian rosé between 20-30g/l.
