- Use the process of elimination. It will increase the chance of answering the question correctly. - On long word problems, read the last sentence first. This is the question that tells you what the actual problem is. - Use a calculator as needed. - Don’t EVER leave a blank answer. At least guess since there is no penalty. - Don’t spend too much time on one question. You only have about 1 minute to focus on each question. - Generally, math questions on the ACT are easier in the beginning and get harder as the test progresses. - Remember ‘Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally?’ Use PEMDAS for orders of operations!! Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction.
