each of the characters Kinkajou sees as an equivalent to one of the dod have a fundamentally opposite trait to that dod member. @thenweatefivesoups made a post that made me realize those characters all have some direct connection to each other as well

here are specifically the characters who were present (in the scene where Kinkajou says the line about being the second coming of the dragonets) at the beginning of their character arcs

-Turtle

is cowardly and hates to rock the boat to a fault

vs Tsunami who is brash and reckless and just does whatever she wants

siblings

-Kinkajou

believes she has a great destiny

cheerful to a manic level

vs Glory who long believed she was insignificant because that's what the guardians told her, and is depressive

close friends after Glory rescued her, Glory is Kinkajou's idol

-Qibli

(Doesn't seem like he's opposite to Sunny but hear me out)

Desperately wants to be important but does not believe he is

Others see him as being more competent than he feels he is

vs Sunny who has always had complete faith that she is (and the other dod are) important, others see her as far less competent than she is

Thorn's kids

-Moon

On first interaction others view her as meek and unimportant, but of course she has psychic powers

makes decisions with her heart

vs Starflight who is initially expected to act like a Superpowered Nightwing (when everyone thought NighWings had powers) but has no powers. Thinks through things logically.

I don't remember how good he is at intuiting the intentions of others. It would fit if he was good at that because Moon isn't.

Umber has the direct connection to Clay, but the Jade Winglet member who was present in the aforementioned scene and who is in direct opposition to Clay is Winter.

-Winter

Does not want to rely on other people or be close to his friends

Is Winter (personality wise)

vs Clay who is Clay (personality wise) and is extremely close with his friends

They were both raised as weapons, but Clay was scared of meeting that expectation whereas Winter was scared of not meeting it.

They are both self-sacrificial.

When Fox is trying to eat Lucy and Rabbit and Terrapin keep interrupting, Fox is very specifically shown to lock the door. The door never gets unlocked. yet later in the episode Barry is able to interrupt and save Lucy by barging in with all his gifts and things, opening the door himself from the outside.

When I first realized this I was like "oh I guess that's a mistake." But I thought about it more and remembered earlier in the episode when Terrapin was freaking out about Barry waiting outside the house, and basically says that locking the door would be as effective against him as "putting up a No Wolves sign".

I'm really not sure whether I believe this was intentional or not. On one hand it's just really odd and specific, but on the other hand this show is really clever, and it's quite the coincidence that both those things happened in the same episode. If it was intentional, it implies that Barry specifically or Wolves as a whole in this universe just have a latent ability to magically bypass locked doors.

Then as I was formulating this Tumblr post in my head I remembered the episode where Barry literally has a whole B plot caused by him locking himself out of his own house. So if the lock thing was intentional by the writers, they probably hadn't thought of it by that point, and/or it's a wolf ability that takes time to develop, and/or Barry developed it as a result of that incident as a means of self preservation.

For example, say there's a piece of media with there's a random scene in the middle with heavy homoerotic tension between our male main character and another man. If I were a person in the universe of the movie and I were my ideal moral self I would be like "I don't know what their relationship is because I don't know them." But if I were a person watching the movie from my own universe, I would know that someone intentionally wrote that scene, and so, with enough evidence, it would be fair for me to assume that the characters were intentionally written that way for some reason. For some reason the male characters were written to at one point slow dance with each other while romantic music plays. In the context of a work of fiction from my own culture written in the present era, I do not know what else that was supposed to mean.

If you are a non-sentient rabbit, terrible awful things are about to happen to you. If you are a sentient rabbit, you are probably an asshole to some degree.

I think it's because they're perceived as being so innocent. This makes them simultaneously easy targets of thematic violence (you can show something is really bad by having it hurt a bunny, which stereotypically can't defend itself except by running away), and also really funny to make evil.

in real life of course rabbits are not very nice. they do actually defend themselves, by biting. but we love them all the same.
