This isn't my normal posts, but very important to me and the one I care about most.
My partner has started a Mycause to help them fund getting a wheelchair, the Australian NDIS has failed them multiple times and for both their dignity and health is in need of a wheelchair that is custom built.
They have been in a cheep secondhand wheelchair for about 2-3 years now and it has been catching up with them in their upper body and may cause them to loose access to alot of things that is important to them and their mental wellbeing.
They are heavy in the trans and queer community within our state, and love to do drag. They are a vocalist, home cook and graphic design artist who is multi-disabled.
They have diagnosed physical disability such as fibromyalgia and functional neurological disorder which can cause severe pain, episodic paralysis, chronic fatigue in his lower body, aswell as tics, seizures and functional tremors which makes daily life hard without the access of proper mobility aids
With the proper wheelchair it will allow him to have proper access to daily life without the need to be entirely dependent on another person.
Before their second hand wheelchair they where almost completely bed bound, experiencing extreme flare-ups that made it so they couldn't do much for months, and why'll their current wheelchair has done wonders, it's second-hand and poses a risk of sending them back to that state.
They are hoping to rase $3600-$3800 to get a custom made wheelchair from Notawheelchair, a lovly independent organisation started by the YouTube creator jerryrigeveryrhing and his wife, who is a paraplegic occupational therapist.
