# daily affirmations
hi my heart's still weak over Occtis', "Because I remember you being very kind, and very bright." Of all things, it was the kind heart of someone who dared to befriend and trust a Tachonis that left the most impression on him--
anyways the way that the narrative approaches the Sith Code with the warrior versus the inquisitor is sooo crunchy. When the Inquisitor is first introduced to the Sith Code via Spindrall, he never does say the final verse--that through breaking your chains, the Force will set you free. It's on you as the Inquisitor to discover and own up to that throughout the story.
MEANWHILE. A Sith Warrior is never fully taught the code prior to Baras's explanation of it--and right off the back, you can point out to him the truth: That by killing Tremel and agreeing to being Baras's apprentice, you've traded one set of shackles for another. Baras counters this by pointing out that his have a much larger range.
AND IT'S SO. it's truly the setup for the whole story, isn't it? When you first arrive on Korriban, Tremel warns the warrior to obey him, and if obeyed, he'll make the warrior the greatest acolyte that the academy has ever seen. at every turn you're trading shackles for shackles... Tremel for Baras, Baras for the Hands, the Hands for the Emperor... it's so... you're always shackled you are always a dog on a lead. even if you want to subvert the empire and change it as a light side sith... you have to do it on a lead. bark bark bark bark
