Gang do any of y'all experience this too. Yk when you're multilingual and all the languages at least at one point of the day get muddled up in your head and what comes out is completely garbled and gibberish but perfectly understandable to you 😭.
My mom and I keep switching between Punjabi and Marathi (more for practice) and sometimes I mix the two of them and it doesn't make any sense (my bad) and my mom looks at me as if I've grown two heads 😭, then she just requests me to stick to Hindi and English JAJWJWH.
My brain struggling with my speech center to speak a coherent sentence while I mix my bhashas
My mom tryna understand what chodbangla I've just spoken
Aaicha gawat mahun me kay karun, majhi waat laavli bc
I head cannon, Damian Wayne losing a lot of words in translation when he was learning other languages. Especially since, when he was with the League English was close to the last language he learned.
So an average conversation with Damian looks like this.
Dick: Hey, Dami, how was your day?
Damian: It was fine, Jon and I went to the собака (dog) parque(park), after that we went to the Eisdiele (ice cream parlor).
Another thing is that Damian would just subconsciously talk shit about someone in a random language. Not because he doesn't want them to know what he's saying, but physically he can't say certain insults and curse words without taking a minute to translate, and obviously when insulting someone you need to be quick with it.
The funny part would be when someone asks Batman or Nightwing to translate, they don't cause they know it's for the best (After all Damian is brutal with his insults)
I use my second language so rarely I've almost forgotten it. It's both sad and emberassing💀
Like, fym I write cherik fics in my thrid language as fluent as I breathe, but talking in my second language, which I've known since adolescence, feels like a tounge tie?!
Me telling a story that happened in a different language: okay, now this next bit is really funny but doesn’t translate well, so let’s take a brief interlude for me to explain to you the sociocultural context behind this idiom. Just give me five minutes and you’ll be laughing, I swear.
Narrator: they did not, in fact, laugh.

Being fluent in multiple languages is great until your brain decides to play linguistic roulette mid-sentence and now nobody, including you, knows what language you just spoke.
As a trilingual person, "knowing more than one langue will improve your speech and vocabulary" is such like....well I don't wanna say scam or double edged sword but what I'm trying to say is that I FORGOT THE WORD FOR CARROT IN MY FIRST LANGUAGE WHAT TF IS THAT LONG ORANGE VEGETABLE CALLED BRAIN I KNOW THAT YOU KNOW THAT I KNOW THAT SO WHY WON'T YOU TELL ME ALREADY ?!😭
me: says like two words in language that’s not english
everyone who has literally never heard someone speak that particular language before: …
everyone: …
everyone: …
me: don’t say it
everyone: yOuR sO FlUeNt
