@multahomines / we’re really doin more angst huh
When Amy approaches him in his room, HE’S TREMBLING. It’s the first thing she notices. It disquiets her more than she cares to admit; maybe it’s selfish, but she’s used to Sonic brushing everything off. She knows at least some of it isn’t healthy for him, and always tries to give him space to hurt, but she’d come to expect the blue hedgehog to keep being unflappable. Her head tilts, quills against her cheeks.
What she’d come to ask about is quickly abandoned within her mind. Instead, she ducks her head to catch his eyes, a careful step nearer, hands out as though in offering. “Sonic?” she asks, high - pitched voice sweet and concerned. “Are you ------ are you doing alright?”
“I really want pizza right now, think it’s open?” / from sonic, to amy
late nights. / accepting. / @multahomines
The hedgehog is more exhausted than she’s been in AGES. Planning troop movements really ought to fall to the Commander, but Knuckles is far too sick with ( justified ) worry to have any hope of beginning, and Amy is too kind to demand he try. Before the rest of the Resistance can assemble, they have to have a plan — and that falls to her. She’s good at it. SHE’S PROUD OF IT ——— helping protect them and lead them and keep her beloved friends safe.
But she’s been awake for eighteen hours, at least, planning, and her head is starting to hurt. It’s just her and Sonic left awake, and the girl knows she ought to rest, but she can’t. Not until this is done — if something goes wrong, it will be her fault. But she can’t resist laying her head upon the desk she’s using, thinking that maybe she’ll grab a five minute nap — or at least rest her eyes. The sound of movement and then an elbow against her table prompts those green optics to slide slowly open, and she’s surprised to find Sonic plopped across from her, smiling in a way that’s half amused / half teasing. She feels her cheeks flush and banishes the colour as soon as she can manage.
“I really want pizza right now,” he starts. “Think it’s open?”
She almost laughs — her head doesn’t lift, but she does smile. “Somehow I don’t think they’re gonna deliver to our SECRET BASE.”
He lets out a too - loud guffaw and races once around the room to demonstrate —— she supposes DELIVERY isn’t a huge issue when the blue blur is far quicker than any delivery person ever could be. She glances down at the papers and movements ( currently pressed against her cheek ) she’s been planning and agonizing over for hours, and decides that while it may not be a nap, a pizza break with her best friend sounds like the next best thing.
“I don’t know if they’re open, but I’m willing to find out.” She finally lifts her head. “But you gotta let me come with you. Some cool night air might just wake me up.”
His grin widens, and he offers her a hand.
hey. i love u

❝ WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG, PAPIST? i was beginning to think you’d given up. ❞ / @multahomines
@multahomines ( walter bishop ) / LIKED.
‘ GOOD MORNING, AM I ---- ’ no, she’s positive she’s neither late nor early for the class, but she is confused nonetheless. ‘ should i wait outside? that would be no problem at all... ’ this is her second class with doctor bishop, and, of course, she is only getting used to all the... oddities, for the lack of a better word.
oddities. as if this place wasn’t a home for those.
' don't be a fool, amy. you know sonic will never return your feelings, why do you insist on fighting to save him? it's fruitless. my robots will tear you apart before you can even get to where i'm holding him, let alone before you two escape. give up now, and i might let the two of you live ... on as my underlings. bwahahaha!'
say mean things to my muses! / it’s not a meme just do it. / @multahomines
The voice echoing over the intercom system grates on her nerves like little else, and she is already perilously close to the edge of her patience. Has been for SIX MONTHS —— being far from Sonic was always frustrating but nothing compared to thinking he was DEAD. And yet, as the hammer tears through another bot that’s in her way, she feels the absurd urge to laugh through her bubbling rage. HE MOCKS HER WITH HER UNREQUITED FEELINGS? As though something as petty as that has any way to harm her now! As though something as silly and as selfish as HER OWN LOVE matters at all any more! As though something as silly and selfish as AMY ROSE has ever matted!
The hammer hits a bot hard, but not hard enough to shatter it — it flies back, knocking into another one and sending them both falling back over the edge of the platform that the battle is on.
As though something as petty as words and robots could possibly keep her from SONIC. Her teeth grind. It never mattered if he loved her or not. It never mattered if he ran from her. ALL THAT MATTERS IS KEEPING HIM SAFE. She failed once. Countless times. She doesn’t intend to fail again.
Her hammer flies from her fingers and slams into a bot, taking it and three others out in an explosion that leaves two of the many remaining bots buring. THERE’S NO TIME FOR THIS. She leaps higher, positioning herself on a high, shelf - like piece of metal jutting from the nearest wall; she only needs a moment. The hedgehog unclasps her left bracelet and lets it fall, hard, to the metal floor; she doesn’t need to watch to know that it will leave a dent. The right bracelet follows it. Her arms and hands flex at her side, a new hammer materializing within the right one.
She can see the path; if she leaps from here and makes a clean fall, she can get up the speed to get past this horde without having to waste the time fighting them. Her fingers flex around the hammer. Amy takes the time, though, before she leaps, to hurl the weapon with fresh, newly unbridled strength, at the speaker that had broadcast his voice. Then she’s gone.
