-Overlooked EDH General of the Day: Jolrael, Empress of Beasts -Average price on tcgplayer.com ($0.25) -Why is Jolrael overlooked? -Being stuck with a 3/3 body for five green mana doesn't make Jolrael the strongest, or most efficient creature in green by a long shot, and her ability requires the dreaded DISCARDING FROM YOUR HAND!!! Because of this many Magic players will undervalue her ability of turning lands into creatures, which leads to the conclusion that the Empress of Beasts can't do her damage on the battlefield; however, that is not the case. -Why is Jolrael strong/fun? -Making Jolrael fun isn't a hard feat to accomplish because almost nobody uses her. Turning lands into creatures supports many combat tricks, and, though I don't advocate it in almost any match, in Gruul colors Jolrael and Anger of the Gods work together to exile all of one player's lands. Sure the Empress doesn't throw 10/10 green baddies left and right, and she isn't the most effective general by any means; however, she supports all types of different builds and I am sure that she has the possibility to be a fantastic card in almost any playgroup.

-Overlooked Card of the Day: Call to the Kindred -Average price on tcgplayer.com ($0.37) -Why is it good? -Call to the Kindred is a tribal deck dream come true. Sitting at four mana it is playable in every format including Modern. When included in a tribal deck you will almost always pull at least one free creature per turn with this card, and in something like a leviathan or horror tribal, with cards costing over six mana to cast, this acts as a significant way to ramp up your side of the board with absolutely zero downside. If you are running a full set of Call to the Kindred then it is entirely possible to get four free creatures of your choice per turn. -My Thoughts -Call to the Kindred is something that was just recently brought to my attention, and WOW DO I LOVE IT!!! This will be a card that I will include in every blue running tribal deck from this point forward. With even one or two of Call to the Kindred on the battlefield it offers the unprecedented ability to get free creatures, and to possibly set up your cards for later in the game. I am a huge fan of this card and I hope that you are as well. 9/10
