“cal.” there was a crisis. hyunki was having a crisis and his best friend was no where to be found. which is absurd. 

even more so when it’s two days later that he corners him in the common room and if he didn’t know any better, he would say that the other geumseong boy was avoiding him-- which make no sense whatsoever. 

he latches on to the other’s arm, pulling the best puppy dog face he could manage because he really needed to talk about this and no one knew a thing about him and soohwa besides cal. “where have you been?” it sounds accusatory, even if he doesn’t mean to come across that way.

last night was a mistake and jianyi was to blame for it. she should have never competed in the butterbeer competition, and she for sure wouldn’t have if jianyi would have just told her about the spiking in the first place! ...okay, that was a lie. she still would have competed regardless, but she would have definitely taken more of a precaution, anything so she wouldn’t have to deal with this hangover. that would have made a huge difference.

there was still an hour or so until the ertie bott’s every flavour beans contest and callie had promised xuexiu she would meet her there to help compete for their house. but with the bright sunlight, the loud noises, plus the pounding headache that rattled her head every second, the suseong junior wasn’t exactly sure if she would be able to pull it off.

it’s not hard to assume that soohwa is the one who always takes the role of the responsible friend among his small social circle, especially when he somehow ends up with some friends that seem a little more on the wild side than soohwa could ever dream of being, while others... well, others are just clumsy... a little threat to their own selves and soohwa feels like he needs to look after them so they won’t end up dead when he isn’t looking. and cal, in the moment in the mirror maze, definitely falls into that last category. soohwa should’ve known that letting the students drink so openly — because he’s not stupid and knows that they’d find a way or another to bring alcohol into the party anyway — could be the formula of a disaster.

which is definitely what is happening right now if soohwa wasn’t there to make sure cal will end up glued to a mirror from bumping into it so many times, or tripping on something. 

“cal.” the head student signs for the millionth time, gently pulling the other from colliding with yet another mirror because he was busy paying attention to the other mirror. “come on, it’s this way.” or he thinks it’s this way considering all the other ways they’ve tried were wrong so far, besides it seems the safest way for cal to be honest.

honestly, levi doesn’t need some kind of ‘trick or treat’ from the professors to make his night more interesting, because this entire day has been… to say the least. but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to take one, because why the hell not? what’s the worst thing that can happen?

there’s some kind of green smoke coming from the potion. that, honestly, should’ve turned him away from it. but of course it doesn’t, because he’s kang levi, and nine out of ten times kang levi acts before he thinks. the potion’s terrible, the texture… oily? it’s almost like an ointment, blergh. he’s looking up and around, wondering if anyone else took this potion too and what the effects of it are.

that’s when his gaze settles on cal. something akin to glee spreads from within him at the mere sight of his— best friend? yeah! that’s cal, his best friend. man, why haven’t they spent any time together today? the potion already shoved to the back of his mind, levi’s found a new focus: the object of his apparent obsession, kangmin lee. zigzagging through the crowd, levi wastes absolutely no time. they have to spend time together now!

“we can do this, right? there’s nothing scary about it!” was she trying to convince herself or cal? she didn’t know. but hearing jason’s theme song playing on loop in the background with the screams echoing from further inside the gym, maybe it really was the former. but she couldn’t let cal know that. of course not. this was a test of courage! a test of might! plus, he asked her to go with him -- not the other way around. she definitely has to go through with this this. they both have to go through with this.
