I don’t know if I can rank these folks (except Rose, she’ll always be no. 1, #sorrynotsorry) so they’re pretty much just gonna pop up in the order they come to mind. :D

ROSE BAMF TYLER

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? Perfectly human, wonderfully dimensional, understandably flawed; compassionate and selfish and clever and just generally amazing. She’s in love, but that’s not the only thing she is. Absolutely one of the best-written (and best-acted) characters I’ve ever encountered. And of course Billie Piper’s performance is so absorbing it’s easy to think of Rose as a real person, rather than a character. Love, love, love.

Donna wins for best/worst character arc, in that it’s beautiful and poignant, and also makes you want to smash things

Jackie Tyler

So just like the other companions’-moms in the RTD-era, Jackie initially suffers from a case of Extremely Unflattering and Flanderized Portraits of Overbearing Motherhood(tm) only to rise from the ashes like a fully-developed well-realized phoenix. As series 1 and 2 go on, Jackie just becomes increasingly more likeable and sympathetic, and I love how her relationship with Mickey develops. 11/10 excellent surrogate-mom-ing

Admittedly I’m not super well-acquainted with his material outside of the show, but even if the movie is cheesy af, Paul McGann’s charm is unmistakable, his enthusiasm fucking contagious. I would love to see more of his Doctor onscreen. (insert obligatory rant here re: how he got robbed in the 50th. ::shakes fist at Moff and co.::)

Mickey Smith

I just have a big ol’ soft spot for Mickey...he kind of reminds me of the better parts of Xander from Buffy, except that he isn’t a Nice Guy(tm), he’s a nice guy who’s fiercely loyal and smarter than folks (::coughthedoctorcough::) give him credit for. Another character with a brilliant arc. I know some folks feel like his match with Martha is a case of Pair the Spares or whatever but I think they’re great together--he’s going to make her feel wanted and adored, and she’s going to make him feel important and needed, and, of course, vice versa. Good stuff.

Harriet Jones

Look I just like her a lot okay and also her decision re: the Sycorax was perhaps not super “honorable” or whatever but also like. It’s super understandable. And to her credit, as far as we’re aware, the Earth goes largely unfucked-with for the rest of the season, til the finale. So, results! Also the Doctor did her dirty which, didn’t that just open the door for the Master/Saxon to assume power? Didn’t it? Yikes Just sayin’.

Ultra loveable, fantastic one-off companion. The wonderful grandparent everyone deserves to have. Also my granny has both of those exact headbands. :D

Uranus: What’s your hobby? I have a few hobbies but it’s mainly writing (stories, songs, poems), reading and baking.

Moon: What are you currently studying/hope to study? the only reason I have not done college is because I can’t afford any of it (I’m still job searching) but if I could, I would love to study the performing arts and take business classes.

Vega: What’s something you’ve done that you wish you hadn’t? The only thing that comes to mind is I wish I hadn’t put up with my last boyfriend for as long as I did but if I know if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t be who I am today and I’m happy with who I became.

Gemini: Favourite song? omg ‘one does not simply have only one favorite song.’ Oh, but if I had to pick my current fave, it’s a tie between Castle On The Hill by Ed Sheeran & Love’s Just a Feeling by Lindsey Stirling ft. Rooty.

Phoenix: Favourite thing to wear? my favorite pair of jeans with a tank top with either a flannel or sweater/hoodie over it.

Pulsar: What do you hope to do in the next 10 years? oh gosh, I hope by that time I have achieved either one or both of my career choices. Either owning my own business (cafe bookstore) or breaking into the music and/or acting business). The latter is less likely though.

And didn't he also say on Graham Norton that he'd obsessively match his socks back in the day? I think he's gotten better about it now though. Love the DT sock thread btw!
