story time!
so, spouse and i were married in pennsylvania, where thanks to quakers, it's possible to get married without an officiant. all ya need is the proper paperwork and two witnesses to sign it.
so at our lowkey, casual wedding that was as small as it could be without either of our mothers rioting, we hadn't decided on the witnesses in advance (extremely extremely lowkey wedding) and my mother, bless her heart, my very very mormon mother, indulges the mormon instinct to Defer to the Men and Patriarchs and suggests both fathers sign it, and I knew *exactly* that's what she was doing, so.
Out of spite I countered with "How about both moms sign it?" and lo, they both signed it.
