love how you might expect jay to be the one who is more “well-behaved” and has an easier time masking in public than matt does but that is really not the case! i think out of the two, matt has a firmer understanding of what the general public considers “normal” and is able to adjust his behavior accordingly in order to get what he wants. idk i just love that subversion of expectations and i love bits of the show that reveal how disconnected jay is when confronted with a setting outside of the comfort and safety of their little pretend world.
