Menu on one of the pics. There are different types of bagels to choose from: I picked “everything” and the “plain” bagels. The bagels here are thick and chewy with loaded ingredients. Preferred the meatballs and I love adding avocado to the P.E.C as it reduces the amount of cream cheese (unpopular opinion but I can’t deal with too much cream cheese as it feels too heavy). The American cheese reminds me of Macca’s cheese. Filling bagels on the pricier side - for me it’s a once-in-a-while treat and I’ll pick something fresher with lettuce next time. BUTTER CRUMBS // my favourite Fig Tart (aud10.50) from @buttercrumbs_au - last day today to get their fig tarts for the season. Also got the beef rendang pie (aud9.50) - flakey pastry and delicious fillings - fragrant rempah and smells of lemongrass for the rendang. Lovely new shop they have with some seats indoors and outdoors to enjoy your pastries and baked goodies. INVITED // Beautiful share plates & cocktails from the newly-reopened Clarences Company Store, Mt Lawley - one of Perth’s original small bars back in 2009. Tasteful interiors and delicious food - especially love the Charred Fremantle octopus with kunzea & fingerlime, pan-fried peppers with goats curd & tobacco onions, corn & walnut tarts and beef tartare with horseradish creme & cured egg. Also tried the Fried heritage chicken (deboned) with pecorino and beer mustard. Dish of the day was the unagi eel - it was melt-in-the-mouth tender and well-seasoned. The charcoal grilled marinated beef was quite soft too. Really enjoyed the tempura prawns. As I don’t eat sashimi, the chefs were kind enough to accomodate with cooked fish. Refreshing mocktails and personally I preferred the lychee jasmine iced tea of the two mocktails. Menu on @perthfoodmenu or click #PFR_EdaIzakaya Incredible opening launch event party with generous and beautifully set-up grazing platters; sashimi and sushi; alcohol: champagne, red and white wine, sake, yuzu and plum wine, cocktails; cooked bites: wagyu skewers, miso salmon, crumbed calamari, fried eggplant; watermelon and feta sticks. Enjoyed the refreshing Bumble Bee and Victoria’s Secret cocktails. The blue cocktail is called “Skyline” - didn’t try this but it looks good too. The wagyu beef skewers were melt-in-the mouth delicious and I had at least four of these as I don’t eat raw seafood (i.e sashimi). 🤭🙈🤣 Can’t wait to be back to try their other menu offerings especially the kushiyaki (Japanese skewers) - the menu is seasonal based on fresh, seasonal ingredients. Such an extensive alcohol list they have too. Tip: They have a private area upstairs for hire.
