i have a hard time with the earlier years of my life. there are a lot of things i blocked out and replaced with really vivid ghost stories- to the point where i have no real memory of things i know are true, but i can recall in exact detail things that never happened. and i didn't even realize it happened until the doctor at ssbts asked me to describe my childhood and i couldn't remember anything real? all i had was this impossible fiction i'd built and on some level believed but i couldn't tell him that because i needed to get out and talking about a completely made up childhood wouldn't help with that. so i've been trying to go back and separate fact from the sort of protective haze i put over things- because i /know/ things that happened but i just can't remember if that makes sense.
