THERE'S LITERALLY A MOREPORK HOLDING AN ANKH IN THE COAT OF ARMS OF ANKH-MORPORK AND I'M SO ANGRY ABOUT THIS RIGHT NOE BECAUSE LIKE I JUST REALIZED THIS AND IT'S SO STUPID AND SO TOTALLY PRATCHETT THING.

Fairest and Fallen
Ankh-Morpork. Queen among cities. The greatest city on the Disc.
Most people forget a very simple piece of information (despite the fact that it is literally staring them in the face).
Ankh.
And Morpork.
There were two cities once, peering curiously at one another across the wide, sprawling surface of the river Ankh. And they grew and expanded and the stink of campfires gradually gave way to the stench of privies and sewer-drains as tents became rough shacks and the shacks gave way to cottages and the cottages to manor houses.
Until one day there was a King, and the King said I am the King of the city of Ankh-Morpork, and this city will become the greatest city on the face of the Disc.
And nobody noticed when the Cities quietly went out the back and faced each other in the center of what would grow to become Sator Square.
Morpork, with an accent so thick you couldn't cut it, squalid, streaked with dirt from running through the morass of his streets, with his dark hair and integrating smile and a broken bottle clutched in one fist.
Ankh, tall and haughty, with a greedy glint in his eyes, his fair hair and sculpted chin something out of a particularly bloody bedtime story - and a naked sword in his agile, sculpted hands.
There could be only one City of Ankh-Morpork, after all.
And as they brawled in the streets, Ankh's face bloody with broken glass and Morpork cursing fit to shame a sailor as he clutched at his broken ribs, Ankh-Morpork, freshly born and hungry, quietly snuck up behind them and slit both their throats.
