okay, so! i actually knew a version of the legend of morfosi before getting told it by "timothy." this was by some of my bros on campus. from what i remember getting told, they told me morfosi was simply just some big scary shapeshifter that stalked the woods basically all around where we lived. not as sophisticated as the real thing. at least they were right about the scary part, haha. creepy son of a bitch. but yeah, it was more common knowledge in my canon compared to how it seemed to be in source. enough to where every few weeks when someone on campus would wind up missing, we were all joke and say "oooh, morfosi got to em!" and then uhhh... turns out that is what happened! multiple times over!
