since i mainly want to focus on myself/art/making a game for the foreseeable future, seattle's high cost of living doesnt make sense when i have a home in shanghai to return to. but i forgot that i cant leave the US for longer than 180 days if i want to keep my green card.
aside from saving money, i also want to stop leaving my cats on the other side of the world for a month every year because i want to see my family. it's a lot of work to bring pets back but fortunately a direct flight from seattle to shanghai is only 12 hours. we even have a space for me to live in away from my parents. everything makes sense! except for the green card.
so i guess the question is, is the cost of 2 roundtrips from china to the states worth the comfort of living in china (and the option to come back to the US).
arghghhhh.
reading back...this is a very privileged problem to have huh. even having the option of going to another country (almost) immediately is a luxury. but i won't feel bad about wanting what's best in my situation
