But her older brother is more into cooking and has a successful chain of restaurants with his wife and would love it if Kai was the heir instead of him.

But Kai is stressed, all her life her grandmother has tried to kick her out of the family by both pressuring her and threatening her.

So when she's at camp she finds a clearing with rocks and sometimes, she would go out there with one of the Hephaestus kids chiseling tools and carve her own grave. But she breaks them if she lives past the age she carved or if has a great resolve.

Like, at least with words like "F*ggot" or "Queer" there's some history to the word and it made sense to use it to refer to queer people negatively.
