Perhaps there are natural portals, or ones left open by Ultimate Digimon, but it's literally been almost every Champion Digimon the kids have fought have gotten into the Mirror World with no problem. BomberNanimon, Machmon, Shademon, even a Rookie like Hyemon (tho that could Digivolve into Fangmon.)

Digimon Beatbreak Episode 16 Review - How To Survive
Are we going to get back to back episodes that focus on a Tactics member? If so, I’m all for it! Despite it being a Reina-focused episode, Granit was the highlight. He is the first of the trio to get his backstory revealed. It surprisingly humanizes him a lot and makes me feel bad for him as well.
Granit, real name Luka, used to live in a war torn nation where the Sapotamas seem to be the only form of advanced technology. He was an orphan who quickly befriended a girl named Stella and became best friends. However, one day, his land got bombed. While trying to escape with Stella, their hands slipped from each other. In desperation, Luka’s Sapotama hatched into Ludomon who swiftly uses his shield to protect him but it was too late for the rest. Because of that, he lives with survivors’ guilt and desires to die…remember that Granit is only 13. I feel like out of all the human characters in Digimon animated media, Granit would be in the Top 5 of tragic backstories. Heck, we don’t even know who launched an attack in his country. Why do I get the feeling it’s Klay?
I’m glad that Reina is able to have some focus! The fact that she doesn’t need rescuing is something I liked! Despite being thrown into the freezing mountains by Moosemon, she rescued Granit and even took part in caring for him to ensure his survival. More of her backstory is showcased in that her parents had ‘disappeared’ and none of her relatives wanted to take her in, so she was sent to an orphanage at eight years old. Shortly after Pristimon was born, she left the orphanage and wandered about as a Cleaner before meeting Kyo. Did Reina meet Kyo when she was 8 or was it sometime later in her life?
Regardless, seeing her backstory helps escalate why she’s so insistent on family and why she was trying her best to make Tomoro feel accustomed to his new family when he lost his. Her gung-ho personality and obsession with earning money also stems from wanting to be useful to Kyo who took her in. I do like that Beatbreak always answers things about characters as episodes progress.
The best part about this episode is that Wolvermon isn’t jobbed for once! I can’t believe it took sixteen episodes for it to happen, but better late than never! Since Ludomon is a defensive Digimon, Wolvermon did most of the work in trying to get Moosemon to use its ability to make Mirror World rifts.
It sucks that Hotaruko and Raito doesn’t seem too concerned about Granit, but maybe things will change in future episodes—Beatbreak shows that you can’t really take people at face-value despite bad first impressions. Maybe they do care about each other but they aren’t as subtle about it. It’s certainly much different from how Glowing Dawn is concerned about Reina. Next week’s episode seems to be about Hotaruko, meaning that Episode 18 will probably be about Raito. I can’t wait to see what sort of backstory these two have.
Stella is voiced by Yukiyo Fujii who voiced Labramon in Digimon Survive and minor characters in Hunters. Some of her non-Digimon roles include Sailor Saturn in Sailor Moon Crystal and Masha from Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings In Russian. By the way, this is the second time I’ve heard Fujii in an anime for kids where she plays a dead character—the first being Amethio’s mother Maria from Pokemon Horizons…
I do wonder what country Granit is from because the story setting is quite global despite it being focused mostly in Japan. Granit is one of the characters of foreign origins alongside Klay and Rose. While Ludomon has yet to evolve, I’m sure that once Granit finds the will to live, the spectacle will happen. Let me know your thoughts on the episode as a whole!

I loved this week's new Digimon Beatbreak episode.
Moosemon has a great design. I dig the color pallet and it really looks like a powerful monster moose.
The frozen horizontal snot bwahaha! Poor Pristimon! So cold!
Great episode for Reina and all of the kids of Glowing Dawn. They're so precious.
Ludomon being sled and this whole section was really cool too. And Tactics continues to be great foils to Glowing Dawn. There being time to learn more about Reina and about Granit went a long way, I want them to be happy. I'm really looking forward to the two groups interacting more.
