Hello lovely! Hope you’re having a good day/night! I came across this gif set in my dashboard and it looked so cool! Can you please tell me how did you do it? And also share the resources if you can? Thanks xx
Hello and thank you very much! 🤗🪽 I used a combination of this template by seungnm and this template by bitchronan, with a few of my own adjustments. I'll do a little gif by gif breakdown for you:
I downloaded and opened the file titled "nf show preview by seungnm," cropped it to just show the preview image and description, and then resized it so the width was 540 px. Then I placed my 540 x 328 gif beneath it.
Here I used the "nf episode playing by seungnm" file from the same template, resized it to be 540 px across, and put my 540 x 360 gif beneath it. I wanted to give a peek at what I envisioned for each ep, so I added these 86 x 86 gifs along the bottom and merged them with the main gif. You can download this to help with your placement.
I took the top text from "nf show preview by seungnm" and the episode numbers and description layout from "show episodes minimal" (from the other template). I reorganized the episodes into two rows and you can grab that layout here!
For the titles on each episode gif I used Adobe Illustrator, but you can get a similar effect by just playing with warp and layer styles on your editor of choice (I use Photopea, this will get you started if you want to check it out). If you're new to giffing in general, @/usergif has an AMAZING directory with tons of tutorials.
Hope that helps, and if you have a specific question about one of these gifs let me know and I'll go more in-depth 🤗💜

Hii! Hope you’re having a lovely day/night! I saw this post on my dash and I’m in love! Can you tell me how did you the text effect and what fonts did you use? I love the combination sm!
hi there and sorry for the late reply! i'm so glad you like the set. ♥️ the big font is called andora modern serif, the small one is one of my go-to fonts for small text and called metropolis.
for the big font i simply coloured the text in a soft gold colour (#f4be54, specifically) and set the text layer to difference (blending mode). i then added a shadow in #794205 to the layer
here are the exact settings:
hope this helps. if you have any other questions, just let me know. ♥️
Hey! Hope you’re having a good day/night! I came across this gif post on my feed and I can’t get over how beautiful it is! Can you tell me how did you do it?
Hi! Thank you so much for the message - this means a lot to me 💖
This is one of the most resource intensive gifsets that I've made to date, but I've experimented with the following to create the special effects:
Neural Filters (Photoshop): The artistic effects seen in the small component gifs of the gifset make use of Neural Filters, namely the Landscape Mixer & Style Transfer filters. I happen to be working on a comprehensive tutorial on using Neural Filters with gifs, so stay tuned :D
Maxon One plugin (After Effects): The transition effects seen in the even numbered panels are few of the presets from Maxon's Universe Suite (used as a plugin on Adobe After Effects)
Cinema 4D: This is another app that's part of my Maxon One subscription under student discount. The moving 3D shapes (seen in panels 1, 3, 4, 8, 9) were made on this 3D rendering software. I'm still pretty new to Cinema 4D, but this tutorial is very helpful!
Rotoscoping (After Effects): I use the Rotoscoping tools on Adobe After Effects to make the cutout gifs as seen in panel 1 + even numbered panels. I have a detailed tutorial on Rotoscoping here!
I hope this helps and I hope you have a lovely holidays season 🎅
Hey! I love your edits!! Especially the colour schemes and pictures that you use. I’m new to editing so can you please share the keywords that you use for searching pictures, also the psds resources and the apps you use to make them? Thanks in advance xx
I use Pinterest and usually put topic (ex: aesthetic nature), and a cool website I use for templates and stuff is canva, then I use fotor for cropping, and photoshop for editing!
First of all, your edits are beautiful 🥺💕🙌🏽 can you guide me how did you do this? Especially, the one gif in the other part?
Hi dear, thank you so much for the nice words! ♥ I'm so glad you're enjoying my stuff!
Overlays, my beloved. I'd love to give you some tips on how I do these gifs. I hope this makes sense and actually is helpful. (I was never asked to share my methods before but I’ll try my best.) If you have any further questions, just ask away!
The most important part for gifs like these is to find scenes that actually work well together. The Perfect Harmony sequence is super nice because you have lots of black and white contrast.
Blending modes and layer masks are your absolute best friends. (I apologise in advance that my Photoshop is in German.)
Usually with gifs like these I either choose Lighten (Aufhellen for me) or Screen—they work best with "erasing" the darker parts of your image. So make sure that the gif that's above—your overlay, so to speak—has either high contrast or a good portion of darker parts and the thing you actually want to focus on is bright enough to stand out.
I’ll show you what I did on this gif:
(The spin in this dance—as beautiful as it is—is actually difficult to overlay because Julie and Luke go from light to dark to light to dark really quickly. You can kind of see it with Luke’s shirt covering some parts of the smaller gif. But I decided to not care that I quite liked how it looked, so I went with it.)
Without blending and masking the gif actually looks like this:
Nice. Not really. (I tend to set the blending mode before adjusting size and position of my gifs. It’s just easier to get a good visual understanding of how the gifs will blend.)
So, yeah, if I then change the blending mode to Lighten, we’ll get this:
Muuuuch better. Now we have to get rid of the hard edges and parts of the gif we don’t need/don’t want to see in the final result. That’s where layer masks come in super handy. Apply one of those to your top gif, set your brush to black and paint over the parts you don’t need:
Et voilà:
Then I colour the whole thing and add the text. And that’s it. I did the same thing basically for all the gifs in this set. Except for the second one (with the hands) I set the blending mode to Screen instead of Lighten because it just worked out better:
The thing with gifs like these really is a) finding the right scenes that work well together and b) letting your creativity run wild. Have fun. ♥

Hello! Hope you’re having a lovely day/night! I’ve seen this post on my dash and it’s amazing! Can you please tell me how did you do it? And also how do usually source your clips to make the gifs?
thank you so much 💗 the 2 main techniques i used for the set are rotoscoping for the gifs and keyframes for the animated typography (i'll link some helpful tutorials) and as for clips, i work mostly with shows/movies so i usually t*rrent or find 1080p DDLs for the best quality :)
Hello lovely! Hope you’re doing well. I came across this gif and it’s so beautiful in a poetic way! Can you please tell me how did you get that pretty purple colouring??? Thanks xx
Hello dear💜! Thank you for your feedback. For some reason your link sends me to diva legolas post, I guess you mean my Gandalf gifset?. But usually when I color my gifs I play with:
Hue/Saturation ➵ select e.g blue and then play with hue to add the color more purpleish
Selective color ➵ pick e.g. red and try to make the color more purpleish. I think this is a great tool for changing colors nicely.
Color balance ➵ add bit of magneta/blue to the overall look.
Sometimes color mixer
In the end I usually add a lot of Vibration
When I'm happy with colors, I'm going to save the settings as psd. and use it in every other gif of the gifset. I drag it to the next gif. Of course you have to fix and change lightning and colors depending on the base gif (some scenes are lighter, some more yellow..).
Honestly I'm kinda chaotic when making gifs.. I have multiple layers and no proper plan: try and error. Sorry this isn't probably helpful at all but thank you for message 💜
