GuYS.
I just discovered the most nourishing and warm and wonderful fall drink. I am particularly cold, and trying not to get sick, so i dont want to have too much sugar right now. Well, whats a healthy yet similar (same plant) alternative to pure sugar?
Molassas.
This is my recipe (that i am now making boatloads of mind you) for warm molassas milk. Do yourself a favor and try it, seriously.
-milk
-molassas (2 teaspoons per mug full)
-splash of vanilla
-cinnamon
-allspice
-nutmeg
-clove
Heat it on stove and ta da! Heaven.
I am drinking it at night as a way to get my ashwaganda in esch day, but feel free to make it in the morning if you dont drink caffiene. Molassas has potassium.
Also, you can pick and choose the spices. If you dont have all of them, just do what you can and what tastes good. You can probably subsitute any type of milk too but i havent tried it.
Of course tumblr isnt letting me add a photo but seriously. Try it. You wont regret it.
trying out some recipes from 19th century America - ice cream, roasted apples, salted egg, molassas candy.
idk...

On an unseasonably warm January 15, 1919, a 50-foot-high storage tank of molasses - meant to be turned into rum in the rush before Prohibition - burst on Commercial Street in the North End, creating a giant wave of sticky brown death that destroyed buildings, bent the El and killed 21 people.
photos here and more info here.
I use the word molassas a lot in my writing
I really like it though. It's got a consistency so thick and slow with the smell of gasoline mixed with gingerbread and Christmas. Just a lovely juxtaposition, I can just feel it filling me up inside. Slowly seeping through my veins and bones, the sugar decaying everything so so slowly. Like an edible magma.
