Meditation is a way for nourishing and blossoming the divinity within you.
Amit Ray, Meditation: Insights and Inspirations
Why read the Psalms?
,,All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable (II Timothy 3:16) and was written by the Spirit for all people, so that everyone may take from it, as from a public hospital of souls, the healing for their own illness. For the Scripture says: Healing will put an end to great sins. Certainly, the Prophets teach us some things, the historical books and the Law others, and the proverbs yet other things. The Book of Psalms, however, has encompassed within itself what is useful from all: it prophesies future events, reminds us of historical facts, gives laws for life, and teaches us what must be done. Thus, to put it briefly, the Book of Psalms is a common treasury of good teachings, revealing to each person, according to their diligence, what is suited for them. For it heals the old wounds of souls and brings swift recovery to the newly wounded; it cares for the one struck by illness and keeps healthy the one who is not affected by it; in a word, it entirely removes, as much as possible, the passions that take hold of human life in various forms, and it does this with proper guidance and sweetness, planting a thought full of wisdom in the soul. [...]
The Psalm is the tranquility of souls, the priest of peace; it calms the turbulence and the blaze of thoughts, softens the soul's anger, and restrains the dissolute. The Psalm binds friendships, unites those divided, and reconciles those at enmity. Therefore, who can still consider themselves an enemy of the one with whom they have raised the same voice to God? Singing psalms brings, therefore, the greatest good: love. Singing together is like a wreath that leads to union, harmonizing the people in the symphony of a single choir. The Psalm puts demons to flight and brings Angels to one's aid."

No Forsyte has given a dinner without providing a saddle of mutton. There is something in its succulent solidity which makes it suitable to people 'of a certain position'. It is nourishing and tasty; the sort of thing a man remembers eating. It has a past and a future, like a deposit paid into a bank; and it is something that can be argued about.
