modern au: Missandei of Naath lives and is finally enjoying the sun in Naath after spending too much time in the cold during the Great War. 

On the day of #NotMyPresident Trump’s election, the NYPD arrests sixty-four protesters down at Columbus Circle.  “This country’s going to shit,” Ben says later, once four of the LI5 made it away consequence free. It’s just past two am and every TV in the 1020 Bar - the cheapest by the university - plays news on a loop about Trump, the election, and the protest.  “I thought Clinton was going to win until she didn’t,” Anna says. Of course she did. They all did. Robbie, who was stuck bartending and missed the Midtown bullshit, slips away from Professor Andre and his newest blonde to deliver the much-needed third round of beer. “I’m drafting the country’s obituary,” he says as he pushes Caleb a new bottle of Yuengling. “A nation’s death deserves a well written eulogy.” As Abe, miserably, states what they all know (“My dad voted for the bastard.”), Caleb says, “No one reads the damn Fed, Townsend.” Robbie protests; Caleb taps his phone as the numbers flick from 2:15 to 2:16. Across the bar, Alex from PoliSci Methods stands on his wobbling stool, raises his pinkish cocktail, and calls, “To America. May death do her part.”
