Toronto FC: Down And Out?
Toronto FC is 6 points down from the last playoff spot currently held by the Columbus Crew. Mo Johnston still thinks the playoffs are a realistic goal. They also have 2 other teams above them still trying to get into that last playoff spot and Mo still thinks the playoffs are a possibility. A former scoring champion and all around good striker Jeff Cunningham is now out for the rest of the season and Mo is still hoping for playoffs. TFC's only representative in this years all star game, Ronnie O'Brien is now also out for the remainder of the season. All the while Mo is thinking his team should make the playoffs still. Other TFC fans are not quite as optimistic as Mo has been.
TFC Might Not Finish This Season
As if this wasn't enough bad news for expansion team Toronto FC, now leading scorer Danny Dichio may be out for the season. Dichio leads the team with 5 goals, but an injured right foot may keep him out the remainder of the season. An upcoming MRI on the foot will determine his fate. TFC coach Mo Johnston said "We're not too hopeful". It is too bad TFC have been hit with so many injuries this season. They could have put together a nice run to the playoffs in thier first year in the league. Now that is probably unlikely. Will TFC be able to keep enough players on the roster and healthy to actually finish the season?
