in the freudian summerhall au i feel like the baelor-jena-reader dynamic is never consummated because that makes it soooo much more tense and frustrating but i DO believe that there would be an insane amount of touching that reader doesn't know how to interpret. maybe they're all lounging around by the pool and jena's like let me help you with that, love when reader's trying to put on sunscreen. is she lingering a little too long on the back of reader's thighs or is she just being thorough? maybe the library at summerhall has those rolly ladders and reader's fetching a book and baelor grabs her waist to help her down. is he gripping her a little too hard or is he just keeping her safe? all these little moments that could be entirely innocent or packed with sexual tension. poor reader doesn't know what to think.
and the "daughter or third?" dilemma does go both ways. because maybe baelor and jena brought her here with good intentions, maybe they just wanted to feel like parents again after losing their boys, maybe they really did just want to have someone to care for. but seeing maekar corner her while she's in the stable, seeing him peel oranges for her and slip the slices into her mouth, seeing him in the hallway outside her room when his bedroom is on the other side of the mansion... they're not sure if they just feel protective or if they feel outright jealous. but how would they explain that to reader? this sweet, insecure girl who's clearly desperate for sexual attention as much as she's desperate for parental attention? how could they break her heart by showing how depraved and twisted they are? so they'll just suffer in silence and bite their tongues and moan a little louder when they fuck (they know she's in the next room, they know she's awake, all she has to do is knock--)
