Ghosts - Headcanons
It's been a while and I have been watching this film everyday for the past 2 weeks, so here we go.
Prequel ideas :
The west wing was destroyed during a fire 4 centuries ago. That was when a lot of the ghosts were killed. The others died randomly either in the mansion or in the normal town nearby.
The west wing was never rebuilt, but appears randomly when ghosts want to lead their guests inside.
The west wing is the only place where ghosts are palpable inside the mansion, hence why they want guests to come here.
The Maestro's family were the last people who lived in the mansion around 100 years prior to the coming of the Mayor. The Maestro was a kid at that time.
The Maestro was seriously neglected by his entire family, but befriended the ghosts who brought him to the west wing pretty often.
The other kids bullied him often, both because of where he lived but also because he was telling them about his ghost friends. Their parents treated him as a freak, and eventually his own parents started seeing him that way.
The Maestro's family eventually moved for unknown reasons (probably because of the bullying) and the mansion was abandonned again.
The Maestro had a fragile health. He eventually contracted tuberculosis as a young man.
He traveled back to the mansion, and died there pretty quickly without any time to settle.
He became a ghost, and reunited with his former friends. His skeletton still sits in a chair upstairs as nobody was there to bury him.
After years of isolation from the world, he tried to walk around the small town next to the mansion but nobody could see him and he couldn't really interact with anyone or anything.
He wanted to attract living people in the mansion to have fun, but the other ghosts weren't very pleased with this idea. They eventually relented because they realised how sad he was.
He switched on the lights in the mansion to attract people and have a bit of new company and scare them for fun, but up until Seth & Kendall came nobody wanted to get close to the mansion.
When the 2 brothers came to the mansion the first time, he was the only ghost who was willing to appear to them in the west wing. The others were either shy or suspicious and just observed them.
The Maestro was DELIGHTED to have new friends, especially kids who wouldn't bully him and loved his tricks.
He sympathized with them as they talked about the Mayor, their dad, who was a horrible and cold man that was never satisfied with them.
The 2 brothers came twice, the second time with another friend. They eventually talked about the Maestro to the Mayor when he caught them wanting to go there a third time.
And the rest is History ~
